1. DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED STATISTICS
1.1. Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/Professor (1 Post)
Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate must be capable of teaching and supervising undergraduate students’ research work, carry out research and should be able to teach the following modules:
• Operations Research.
• Computational Mathematics for Information Systems.
• Linear Mathematics.
• Experimental Design.
Desired Qualifications
• MSc in Statistics, Operations Research or equivalent.
• Must be a holder of BSc in Statistics, Operations Research or equivalent with at least a 2.1 pass.
• Membership with an accounting professional board is an added advantage.
• A tertiary teaching qualification is another added advantage.
• A relevant PhD is a distinct advantage.
• Experience in teaching and/or supporting learning in higher education.
2. DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND INFORMATION
SYSTEMS
2.1. Assistant Lecturer (3 Posts)
Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate must be capable of teaching and supervising undergraduate students’ research work, carry out research and should be able to teach the following modules:
• Prototyping Laboratory.
• Cryptography and Security.
• Secure Coding.
• Mobile Forensics.
• Secure Software Studies.
• System Administration and Security.
Desired Qualifications
• Must have a BSc in CyberSecurity, Computer System Engineering, Information Security, Computer Science, TelecommunicationEngineering or equivalent with at least a 2.1 pass.
• The candidate should not have more than two (2) years after completing the degree.
• The candidate is expected to register for Masters degree.
Please note that the duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor and Professor are grouped into 5 main categories which are:
I. Teaching
The incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the Department and/or Faculty guidelines and standards.
II. University Service and Community Engagement
The incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences, committees and seminars, among others.
III. Research
The incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.
IV. Innovations
The incumbent is expected to engage in innovations which should lead to production of goods and services.
V. Industrialisation
The incumbent is expected to be industrial through commercialisation of goods and services.
