- DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY
- Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/Professor (1 Post)
Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate must be capable of teaching and supervising undergraduate students’ research work, carry out research and should be able to teach the following modules:
- Theory of Mechanisms and Machines.
- Engineering Materials.
- Engineering Design Principles.
- Soil Mechanics and Tillage.
- Engineering Surveying.
Desired Experience and Qualifications
- MSc in Agricultural Engineering/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Must be a holder of BSc in Agricultural Engineering/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with at least a 2.1 pass.
- A tertiary teaching qualification is an added advantage.
- A relevant PhD is another added advantage.
- Experience in teaching and/or supporting learning in higher education.
- DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS AND DEVELOPMENT
- Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/Professor (2 Posts)
Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate must be capable of teaching and supervising undergraduate students’ research work, carry out research and should be able to teach the following modules:
- Intermediate Macroeconomics for Agriculture.
- Value Addition in Agriculture.
- Agribusiness and Entrepreneurship.
- Agricultural Value Chain Management.
- Agricultural Trade.
- Econometrics.
Desired Experience and Qualifications
- MSc in Agricultural Economics/Economics/Agribusiness Management or equivalent.
- Must be a holder of BSc in Agricultural Economics/Economics/Agribusiness Management or equivalent with at least a 2.1 pass.
- A tertiary teaching qualification is an added advantage.
- A relevant PhD is another added advantage.
- Experience in teaching and/or supporting learning in higher education.
- DEPARTMENT OF AGRONOMY
- Part-Time Lecturer (1 Post)
Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate must be capable of teaching and supervising undergraduate students’ research work, carry out research. The candidate must also have practical experience in the use of GIS and Remote Sensing Software as this position requires a dynamic academic who will deliver high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in GIS, Remote Sensing, and their applications in Agroecology and Environmental Sustainability.
Desired Experience and Qualifications
- MSc in Geo-Information Science/Natural Resources or equivalent.
- Must be a holder of BSc in Geo-Information Science/Natural Resources or equivalent with at least a 2.1 pass.
- A tertiary teaching qualification is an added advantage.
- A relevant PhD is another added advantage.
- Experience in teaching and/or supporting learning in higher education.
- DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS
- Part-Time Lecturer (1 Post)
Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate must be capable of teaching and supervising undergraduate students’ research work, carry out research and should be able to teach the following modules:
- Data Analytics.
- Machine Learning.
- Deep Learning.
Desired Experience and Qualifications
- MSc in Data Analytics/Data Science/Computer Science or equivalent.
- Must be a holder of BSc in Data Analytics/Data Science/Computer Science or equivalent with at least a 2.1 pass.
- A tertiary teaching qualification is an added advantage.
- A relevant PhD is another added advantage.
- Experience in teaching and/or supporting learning in higher education.
Please note that the duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor and Professor are grouped into 5main categories which are:
- Teaching
The incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the Department and/or Faculty guidelines and standards.
- University Service and Community Engagement
The incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences, committees and seminars, among others.
- Research
The incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.
- Innovations
The incumbent is expected to engage in innovations which should lead to production of goods and services.
- Industrialisation
The incumbent is expected to be industrial through commercialisation of goods and services.
