Students and staff from Betera High School in Buhera visited Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences (MSUAS) on Friday, 31 July 2026, for an educational tour that exposed learners to university life, academic programmes and career opportunities as the University celebrates 10 years of academic excellence, research, innovation and community engagement.

The visit provided learners with an opportunity to interact with representatives from various faculties and university departments while gaining a better understanding of the programmes, services and opportunities available at MSUAS.

Such engagements are important in helping secondary school learners understand the transition from high school to higher education and make informed choices about their future studies and careers.

Academic presentations were made by staff from MSUAS’ faculties, which include the Faculty of Agribusiness Management, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Environmental Sustainability, Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology, Faculty of Applied Social Sciences, and Faculty of Engineering.

Learners also received information on services provided by the Student Affairs Division and gained insight into the admissions process, giving them a clearer understanding of the requirements, support systems and opportunities associated with pursuing higher education at MSUAS.

Following the presentations, the visiting students embarked on a campus tour, giving them an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the University’s facilities and learning environment.

In appreciation of the visit, the MSUAS Library donated books to Betera High School, further strengthening the educational value of the engagement and promoting a culture of reading and learning among the students.

As MSUAS marks a decade of academic excellence, engagements with schools such as Betera High School provide an important platform for the University to share its academic opportunities, inspire the next generation of students and strengthen its relationship with surrounding communities.

Through educational tours and other school engagement initiatives, MSUAS continues to promote awareness of opportunities in science, technology, agriculture, engineering, business, social sciences and other areas of applied learning, while advancing its commitment to academic excellence, research, innovation and sustainable development.
