MSUAS Golf Tournament Drives Radiology Centre Project
As Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences (MSUAS) celebrates 10 years of academic excellence, innovation and service to the nation, the institution’s Fundraising Golf Tournament held on 13 June 2026 at Hillside Golf Club in Mutare successfully brought together corporate leaders, development partners, golfers and other stakeholders in support of a major healthcare initiative.
The tournament sought to raise funds for the construction of a Radiology and Diagnostic Centre that will house the University’s recently acquired X-ray machine.
Whilst welcoming guests at the prize-giving ceremony, MSUAS Registrar Dr Kudzayiishe Mudzingwa expressed gratitude to sponsors, participants and partners for supporting the University’s vision of enhancing healthcare services through strategic partnerships.
Speaking at the event, MSUAS Vice Chancellor Professor Albert Chawanda said proceeds from previous fundraising tournaments had enabled the University to acquire an X-ray machine for its Health Services Department.
MSUAS Vice Chancellor Professor Albert Chawanda said the University is now focusing on establishing a Radiology and Diagnostic Centre that will benefit both the University community and the wider Mutare community.
He also announced that the fundraising golf tournament had been adopted as an annual flagship event aimed at strengthening partnerships and supporting key development initiatives.
Similar sentiments echoed from MSUAS Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Upenyu Guyo, who commended the sponsors, golfers, and the organising committee for their contribution to the success of the tournament.
The event attracted support from several organisations, including Mutapa Investment Fund, FBC Holdings, Old Mutual Zimbabwe, BancABC, Commercial Bank of Zimbabwe, Dandemutande, Varichem and other corporate partners who reaffirmed their commitment to supporting education, healthcare and community development.
A renewed commitment was made by stakeholders to continue supporting MSUAS’ vision of advancing innovation, healthcare, and national development through meaningful partnerships.
